RSS
RSS (“Really Simple Syndication”) is a format using a programming language called “XML” which enables the user to “subscribe” to several types of web based content which are regularly updated. Examples include blogs, news feeds, and podcasts.
A variety of programs refered to as “aggregators” allow the user to subscribe to RSS content and have it automatically “delivered” when new content is available. These programs are known as aggregators because they allow the user to subscribe to a variety of content sources and view them in one place.
On Web pages, web feeds are typically linked with the word "Subscribe", an orange square,
, or a rectangle with the letters
or
